About Us

Thank you for visiting our web site. We are the Gage's - Jim and Sheree. Our farm name is One Duck Farm LLC. We are located on 265 acres at 868 Tuggle Rd. and our #2 location on Webster Rd. in Danville, Kentucky 40422. We are approximately 35 miles SW of Lexington, Kentucky (horse capital of the world) in the heart of Bluegrass Country. One of the most frequently asked questions that we hear at the Farm is "Where did you get the name One Duck Farm?"

Our Story

Sheree and I, several years ago, had come to Kentucky on a driving vacation to do the Kentucky Bourbon Distillers' tour. As we drove through the area, we began to realize just how beautiful the Bluegrass Region truly was. Even if you are not a Bourbon drinker, if you ever have the occasion to visit the area, treat yourself to the tour, you will not be disappointed . We were doing the tour with heavy hearts. We had made the painful decision to sell our business in Arizona and do something different in life. What we would do after we retired was not yet settled. After we returned to Arizona and got back into our daily routines again, the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky was still on our minds. We began to talk about possibly relocating there and raising cattle. After contacting a local realtor we again came to Kentucky to spend a couple of days reviewing properties.

The Duck

On our first visit to what is now our farm, there was one (1) single duck sitting on one of the ponds. As we were driving down the long driveway from the house, I turned to Sheree and said, "Baby, if we had this farm we could call it One Duck Farm". Needless to say, the name stuck and when I filed the corporation papers we named it One Duck Farm LLC . Before you ask the question ( cause I just know you are going to do it ), no, that duck is no longer here and truth be told, we have never seen that duck again. Kind of like money, here today gone tomorrow.
